and 1998 somewhere off the coast of Mexico bearing

toward Panama

. . .and Jen Huggins was a roller-blading Venice Beach babe. Our

guest crew member, Stan Fowler, appeared as Tinkerbell, near as I

could figure, and the Cook, Tina Koch, looked something like the cook

in Beetle Bailey. John Hope was a mad cow and Caroline Smith was the

clairvoyant Eight Ball, who would divulge the future if shaken with

vigor. Wes Heerssen came as Wes Heerssen on laundry day. After a few

shanties, it was dinner time.

and in 1999  somewhere on Lake Eire

Stan-the-Man Fowler rejoined us at Erie for the trip to New London,

Connecticut. Stan sailed with us last year from the West Coast of

Mexico to Baltimore, and also assisted us with last winter's

maintenance projects.

Meanwhile in 2000 ,  somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic ocean

        .   . . .Stan-the-Man as "Sinbad, the Fashionable;" Friedrich

as Roman Polanski; Lee as Teacher Aboard and Documentor of the Above;

and last but not least, Capt. Parrott as The Green Flash, for those

who had never seen one. At Pamela's reminder, the customary tot was

served to Neptune with all the grace, deference, and general

obsequiousness that could be mustered in a few words. The punch was

served and the snacks were laid on; the guitars were pulled out and

the weather behaved. Later that night we dined on roast goose, which

was torn limb from limb in traditional Halloween fashion.
