I grew up in Forsyth County, North Carolina. After graduating N. C. State / Computer Science, I moved to Maryland for a civil service job at the U. S. Naval Academy. Following many years at USNA, I moved to the National Library of Medicine.
Currently I'm at the National Institute of Standards & Technology, in the High Performance Computing and Visualization Group.

A cover image I worked on for the NIST Journal of Research. A science visualization video I worked on in Wired Magazine web site. Here is a 2013 article about our work simulating rheometers, devices for measuring concrete viscosity, with two images produced with my software.
