The two PDF files found here is a 300ish page (two parts) report on North Carolina I "compiled" in the 7th grade. I got an A+. I have no memory of doing the work. I suspect mom did most of it. Every page is perfectly typed. She was good at typing then. I could not type one error free sentence. Back then the schools actually had typing classes which I didn't take. My typing isn't much after a 45 years as a professional computer geek. Its a good thing video terminals and the delete key became wide spread in the late 1970's, just in time to to start typing for a salary. The one part of the NC report I remember is collecting NC travel brochures at the county fair. I remember this because the person at the booth yelled at us for taking too many. We used a bunch of them in the report by making a page with a pocket to hold the printed materials. I scanned the original document with a iPhone App called "Turbo Scan" Having now glanced at every page I'm thinking I should actually read it. It may be interesting to to get an idea of how the 7th grade me and my 37 year old mother perceived our home state. This document is on-line at: stevesatterfield.com/nc which you already know as you are reading these words. -Steve Satterfield 10/29/2023
